Ferdinand has been part of the entertainment industry for over 20 years and has produced, directed, written and choreographed award-winning stage & film productions. Ferdinand also strives to inspire and motivate through annual youth development projects like the “Broadway Performance Showcase Experience” which is an initiative to create a sound platform for our young artists in South Africa providing a safe environment to uplift, transform and integrate our culture.
Marlee van der Merwe is a South African singer, actress, dancer, songwriter and fine artist best known for her starring role as Alexia Kriel in the kykNET musical youth drama series Sterlopers. You may recognise her as Kristien in the Getroud met Rugby tv soap. Marlee is also no stranger to the recording studio and has been involved in many commercial projects as a vocalist and creatively as a songwriter and producer.

Over the past few years, however, Tandi has dedicated more of her time to nurturing the next generation of performers. She believes that if you want to have a career in dance or theatre, just doing syllabus work is not enough; opening your mind and body to new styles of dance, and constantly challenging yourself to improve in each area, is all part of becoming a true artist in your craft.
Graduating from UCT Ballet School in 1995 with her Dance Teachers Diploma, as well as RAD Majors and Juniors Teacher’s with distinction, she relocated to Johannesburg in 2000. Performing in shows locally and internationally, she starred in ‘Grease the Stadium Spectacular’, travelling extensively abroad on dancing contracts to Turkey, Ethiopia, Italy, Tunisia, The Bahamas and Birmingham. Returning home to Sun City she performed as part of the cast of Odyssey and followed it up with various shows in every Sun International and Tsogo Sun Site with Body Talk, Tina Turner Rock Diva, Inferno, Star Struck etc. After a car accident, she entered the choreographer’s world, working on various corporates whilst being the Head Judge for Dance Star in Croatia since 2017. Phillida now mainly focuses on production and events with brands like BMW SA (contract as Marketing and Events Strategist), Audi, and Chery Tiggo Launches, as well as running her own company VP Productions Pty (Ltd).
Kyle made his musical theatre debut as ‘Link Larkin’ in the Broadway-directed SA premiere production of “Hairspray” at Gold Reef City’s Lyric Theatre. Thereafter he understudied and performed the role of ‘Frederick Trumper’ in “Chess – The Musical” for Pieter Toerien Productions. Kyle then toured Asia in the role of ‘Ryan Evans’ in Disney’s “High School Musical”. Kyle also played ‘Anton’ alongside Laurika Rauch in the touring musical “Stuur Groete Aan Mannetjies Roux”, and performed as a frontline vocalist alongside Nataniël in “The Moses Machine” at the Marcellus Theatre, Emperor’s Palace. Kyle played the role of ‘Billy Kostecki’ in the international touring production of “Dirty Dancing” and thereafter played ‘Artie Green’ in the SA premiere production of “Sunset Boulevard”. In television, Kyle’s most notable roles were ‘Duncan’ in etv’s “Backstage”, ‘Schalk’ in M-Net’s “Egoli”, ‘Michelangelo’ in the BBC series “Leonardo”, ‘Hardus’ in “Moferefere Lenyalong”, ‘Pieter Poeier’ in “Moeggeploeg” and ‘Monrè’ in “Getroud Met Rugby”. As the lead singer of the group ADAM Kyle has recorded four albums and won six Ghoema Awards and a South African Music Award for “Beste Pop Album”. Kyle continues to tour with ADAM and is, by day, the Pop Vocal teacher and Performance coach at St Stithians College in Sandton. Bradley Hartmann is a Dancer, actor, singer who performed musicals on stage such as lead in chorus line, lead in Madagascar, ensemble in Jonathan Roxmouth musicals in concert, Barnyard shows and more. He has choreographed and Danced in music videos for South African artists such as Arno Jordaan 3de wereld oorlog , Floose and Dirk van der Westuizen, He’s also been on TV and Film for Comedy Central, MTV base, KykNet, Mnet and SABC. Bradley Hartman is now dancing with “TailorMade Dance Company” one of the best dance companies in South Africa.
Lesego is a choreographer, arts and culture consultant and dance advocate who spent a large part of her career as an international dancer and performer. Her extensive career boasts of versatility and adaptability and has seen her grace stages in prestigious productions like African Footprint, Chicago the Musical, West Side Story and Winnie the Opera. Off stage, Lesego was the rehearsal director for Lulu Mlangeni’s Standard Bank Young Artist work, KGANYA. Lesego is the chairperson of the Theatre and Dance Alliance (TADA), a board member of the STAND Foundation, and the chairperson of the South African Dance Alliance. She is the newly appointed choreographer for the National Children’s Theatre’s upcoming production of Under the Baobab Tree. She has facilitated dance workshops at a professional and educational level for institutions like Vuyani Dance Theatre and Oakfields College.
Kimberley-born triple threat Megan Carelse celebrates her 15th year in the entertainment industry this year as a singer, songwriter, actor, presenter, dancer, model, producer, director and teacher. Megan has a degree in Musical Theatre (Cum Laude) from Tshwane University of Technology. She has sung and danced her way through iconic musicals such as HAIR, RENT, WE WILL ROCK YOU!, ASPECTS OF LOVE, EVITA and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR. In 2015 Megan had the privilege of working with Disney UK/SA and Urban Brew as the choreographer and vocal coach on the hugely popular I LOVE VIOLETTA television show. Megan has also had success in the indie music scene with her singles I GOT IT, UNFAITHFUL, TASTES LIKE CANDY, WHAT YOU WAITING FOR, and DOG DAYS. In 2017 Megan worked with Silas James, Juan Enslin and SAMA award-winning producer Marius Brouwer to find her new sound which is a Country/Pop fusion. She has had success on international and local radio stations with her singles HOME, MY GRAVITY, MAKE YOU HAPPY AND SMALL TOWN GIRL. In fact, Radio WIGWAM supported most of Megan’s singles by playlisting “MY GRAVITY” and “SMALL TOWN GIRL”, this led to an international nomination as BEST FEMALE ARTIST in the Radio WIGWAM (UK) online radio awards. Megan now runs her own production company “Megan Carelse Productions” procuring work for artists and curating acts for Live on the Piazza at Eastgate Shopping Centre. Since its inception, Megan has managed to hire over 100 artists at this venue. Megan is also a Live Performance lecturer at AFDA Johannesburg.
Oscar is blazing up stages around the world with performance pieces that have already won him substantial recognition and international acclaim. In 2003 he began working with Dlala Mapantsula and, shortly before reaching his teenage years, he started choreographing his own creations. Oscar later joined Nkosinathi Cultural Productions performing at well-known festivals such as the annual South African dance festival Dance Umbrella and the internationally acclaimed South African National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. Over the past four years, he toured extensively with Robyn Orlin’s “Beauty Remained…” and was cast for “Ngisiwize”, a collaborative creation by Sonia Radebe and Canadian choreographer, Jennifer Dallas. Buthelezi walked away with the high-profile Kurt Jooss Prize for 2016 – Choreographer of the Year Award, out of 70 choreographers from 26 countries.
Jeannette Ziady is a dance lecturer at Tshwane University of Technology’s Department of Performing Arts. She has completed a master’s degree in dance fitness science, in collaboration with the Department of Performing Arts and the Department of Sport Science, Rehabilitation and Dentistry. Her passion for teaching lies in ballet, contemporary, jazz, pointe work and production! Although she has enjoyed a career in theatre and performance and is a qualified adjudicator for national and international lyrical, modern, contemporary, ballet and jazz dance competitions, dance education, and mentoring the upcoming generation remains a primary passion. She has been appointed as Senior Education Specialist for Further Education and Training Art subjects, Gauteng Subject Advisor for Dance Studies, and was appointed chief marker for practical and theory dance in Gauteng and Western Cape provinces.
Debra has been an industry professional for 32 years and specialises in Ballet and Jazz. Debra danced professionally for NAPAC Dance Company in Durban, Sun International Extravaganza’s, Debbie Rakusins ‘One up on Jazz’ Company and several corporate functions as well as choreographing for many Dance Productions. She took a lecturing post at the Tshwane University of Technology, where she worked in both the Dance and Musical Theatre programmes for 16 years before taking a teaching post for Dance Studies at a private school in order to train pupils from a younger age. She is also the Senior teacher and Partner at Southdowns Dance Academy. Debra holds a Baccalareus Technologiae Degree in Teaching Pedagogy and continues to focus on the training of young dancers as a precursor to entering the formal industry.
Mr Khomo is a versatile choreographer and teacher with over 25 years of experience in multiple dance genres backed by training in various dance techniques such as Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, African, Hip Hop and Jazz. He started dancing at the age of 14 with the Soweto Street Beat Dance Company in Orlando East, a company which he toured the United States of America with for four years serving as a dance captain as well. He choreographed the RMB Queen’s Choir Show, late Lebo Mathosa’s show, Lira’s Show, Adilah, for TUT, National School of the Arts, The Fiestas, Pink Angel, Lactokid Commercial, the SAFTAs, and the Ndlovu Youth Choir. Mr Khomo taught Dance at UJ, the Sello Maake KaNcube Foundation, and he is currently teaching Dance at Espoir Academy and at the Orlando Dance Theatre.
With more than 14 years in the music industry under his belt and a former member of the country’s top boy band, Hi5, Lee has gained more experience than your average young artist. Theatre productions is nothing new for this talented performer as he has already starred on numerous stages including Barnyard theatres across the country, Sound Stage and the Gold Reef Hippodrome. In 2007 he graced the stage of the well-known Son Amar theatre in Mallorca, Spain for more than 7 months. In 2015 he was part of the Jennifer Rush tour group during her sold-out shows in South Africa. His debut album, ‘Die Enigste Manier’ was released in August 2010. The album received two music award nominations – a SAMA nomination in the category Best Pop Album as well as a Huisgenoot Tempo Award nomination for Best Pop Album. Shortly afterwards he was the face of the popular kykNET show, ‘Sêr’ and guest presenter for the kykNET magazine programme, Bravo! In 2013 he released his second album, ‘Vir Ewig’ which was also nominated for various musical awards. His latest single, Perfekte Vreemdeling was released in 2017 and his video concept for the track won the kykNET Video Music project competition in the same year. Recently he was cast as the face of the popular SABC2 music show, Kliphard! which features every Monday night. Being a vocal coach and performing at festivals and functions almost every weekend also takes up a lot of his time but he is focused on releasing a new single and album in the near future.
